Is there a process to get a jdbc connection from a user configured driver (via Preferences) in 1.3.1

There was a GroovyUtilsPro class in SoupUI 5 which allows the test script to get a Jdbc connection via jdbc drivers that can be pre-configured in Preferences, but the same class cannot be found in Ready API 1.3.1. Is the class moved to a new package or is there a replacement for it? What is the new process to get a pre-configured jdbc connection?
